Privacy is a fundamental right, and at CauseKind ("CauseKind", "We", "Us", "Our"), it is treated as such. This Privacy Policy describes how We collect, use, store, and share information about You ("You", "Your", "User") when You access or use our website www.causekind.com and related services (collectively, the "Platform").

This Privacy Policy is published in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made thereunder, specifically the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines) Rules, 2011.

By accessing or using the Platform, You agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If You do not agree, please do not use the Platform. You hereby provide Your consent to CauseKind as provided under Section 43A and Section 72A of the Information Technology Act, 2000.

This Privacy Policy should be read in conjunction with our Terms of Use. Any undefined term herein shall have the same meaning as in the Terms of Use.

2.1 Personal Information

We collect information You provide directly when You:

• Create an account or register on the Platform
• Create, donate to, or participate in a Campaign
• Submit item listings or item requests
• Make a donation or transaction
• Contact Us for support
• Subscribe to newsletters or communications

This includes, but is not limited to:

• Contact Information: Name, email address, phone number, address, profile photograph, date of birth, gender.
• Identity & Account Information: Username, password (encrypted), profile details, and social media profile (if linked via Google or other OAuth providers).
• Campaign & Beneficiary Information: For Campaign creators and Beneficiaries — campaign title, description, photographs, videos, purpose and objectives of the Campaign, financial need details, and associated location information. This information may be used to market the Campaign publicly in order to raise funds or Materials for Beneficiaries.
• Transaction Information: Donation amounts, payment method preferences, billing address, UPI/payment gateway reference information, transaction history, and donation receipts.
• Technical Information: IP address, browser type and version, device identifiers, operating system, pages visited, time and date of visits, duration on pages, referring URLs, and other usage statistics.
• Communications: Records of emails, messages, or correspondence You send Us or that others send Us about Your activities on the Platform.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

When You use the Platform, We automatically collect certain technical information through cookies and similar technologies. Please see Section 06 (Cookies & Local Storage) for more details.

2.3 Third-Party Information

We may receive information about You from third-party sign-in providers such as Google (when You use Google Sign-In). If You connect a social media account, We may receive Your public profile information and email address from that provider, subject to their privacy settings.

2.4 What We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect special categories of personal data including details about Your race, ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sexual orientation, political opinions, or trade union memberships, unless You voluntarily provide such information as part of a Campaign description (e.g., a medical condition relevant to the Campaign). We do not collect information about criminal offences or convictions.

We use Your personal information for the following purposes:

• To create and manage Your account on the Platform
• To facilitate and process donations, item listings, item requests, and item matches
• To display and promote Campaigns to potential Donors and supporters
• To send transaction confirmations, donation receipts, and campaign updates
• To communicate with You about Your account, campaigns, or support requests
• To verify Your identity and prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorized activities
• To comply with applicable laws and regulatory requirements
• To improve and develop the Platform and understand user behaviour
• To send You newsletters and updates (only with Your consent; You may opt out at any time)
• To share information with Beneficiaries, Trusts, or NGOs as required to fulfill a Campaign's purpose
• To respond to legal requests, court orders, or government authorities as required by law

We do not sell or rent Your personal data to third parties. We may share Your information in the following circumstances:

• With Campaign Creators & Beneficiaries: If You donate to a Campaign, the Campaign creator may receive Your name, email address, and donation amount to acknowledge Your contribution. You may opt to donate anonymously.
• With NGOs, Trusts, and Partner Organizations: We may share information with registered NGOs, Trusts, or charitable organizations listed on the Platform to the extent required for fulfilling the Campaign's objectives and for compliance with applicable law.
• With Service Providers: We share data with third-party vendors who assist Us in operating the Platform, including payment gateway providers, cloud hosting services, and email delivery services. These providers are contractually bound to use Your data only for the specified purpose and to maintain appropriate security.
• For Legal Compliance: We may disclose Your information to law enforcement authorities, courts, government agencies, or other parties as required by applicable law, or to enforce our Terms of Use and protect the rights, property, or safety of Users or the public.
• Business Transactions: In the event of a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of our assets, Your information may be transferred to the successor entity. Such entity will be bound by this Privacy Policy.
• With Your Consent: We may share Your information for any other purpose with Your explicit prior consent.

We retain Your personal data for as long as:

• Your account remains active on the Platform
• It is necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy
• Required by applicable law (e.g., financial records for taxation purposes)

When personal data is no longer required, We will delete or anonymize it. In certain circumstances, We may retain anonymized, aggregated data for statistical or research purposes indefinitely.

We use a limited number of cookies and Your browser's local storage to operate the Platform and provide a smooth experience.

What we use them for

• Keeping You signed in across sessions when You select "Remember Me" at login
• Remembering Your preferences and settings
• Ensuring the security and proper functioning of the Platform

We do not currently use cookies for advertising or third-party behavioural tracking.

Your choices

Most browsers allow You to refuse or delete cookies and clear local storage. However, disabling these may affect certain features, such as staying logged in. You can manage these preferences through Your browser settings.

By registering on the Platform and/or providing Your contact information, You consent to receiving communications from Us via:

• Email (transactional, service-related, and updates)
• SMS and WhatsApp (campaign updates, donation receipts)
• Push notifications (if You enable them on Your device)

You may opt out of non-essential communications at any time by clicking "Unsubscribe" in any email, or by contacting Us at support@causekind.com. Opting out does not affect transactional or legally required communications.

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites, applications, or services. CauseKind is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third-party sites. We encourage You to review the privacy policy of any website You visit before providing any personal information.

We take reasonable technical, operational, and physical measures to protect Your personal data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include:

• SSL/TLS encryption for data in transit
• Encrypted storage of passwords
• Access controls and role-based permissions
• Regular security reviews

However, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure. While We strive to protect Your data, We cannot guarantee absolute security. If You suspect a security breach, please contact Us immediately at support@causekind.com.

The Platform is intended for use only by individuals who can form a legally binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872. Persons under the age of 18 may use the Platform only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If You believe a child has provided Us with personal data without parental consent, please contact Us and We will take appropriate steps to delete such information.

You have the following rights with respect to Your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data We hold about You
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
• Erasure: Request deletion of Your personal data, subject to legal and contractual obligations
• Withdrawal of Consent: Withdraw Your consent to data processing at any time (this does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal)
• Opt-Out: Opt out of marketing communications or non-essential data sharing
• Account Deactivation: Request deactivation of Your account

To exercise any of these rights, please contact our Grievance Officer (details in Section 12). We will respond within 30 days of receiving Your request. We may ask You to verify Your identity before fulfilling the request.

In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and applicable rules, the details of our Grievance Officer are:

CauseKind acts as a platform to connect Donors with Beneficiaries and Campaigns. While We endeavour to verify Campaigns, such verification is not exhaustive or warranted by Us. CauseKind is not a party to any Campaign.

Each Donor is encouraged to conduct their own due diligence. CauseKind does not represent or warrant that Beneficiaries will use donated funds or materials in the manner represented. Donors acknowledge that they do not rely solely on CauseKind for the accuracy or completeness of Campaign information.

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. Material changes will be notified via:

• Email to Your registered email address
• A prominent notice on the Platform

Your continued use of the Platform after such notification constitutes Your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
