Section 01

Payment Gateway and Razorpay

CauseKind uses Razorpay as its third-party payment gateway/payment aggregator to process online donations and other payments made through our website, mobile services, payment links, QR codes, or other payment interfaces.

When you make a donation or payment through CauseKind, you may be redirected to or use Razorpay’s secure checkout/payment interface. Razorpay may collect and process payment-related information such as your name, email address, mobile number, billing details, transaction amount, payment method, transaction ID, card/wallet/UPI-related details, and other information required to complete, verify, secure, or settle the transaction.

CauseKind does not store your complete card number, CVV, UPI PIN, net banking password, or similar sensitive payment credentials. Such payment information is processed by Razorpay, banks, card networks, UPI, wallet providers, and other authorised financial institutions/payment service providers according to their own security standards and privacy practices.

Razorpay’s privacy policy states that it may store customer information such as address, mobile number, wallet details, card details, and email addresses when payments are made through Razorpay checkout, and that such information may be shared with the respective business if the customer consents during the transaction.

We may share necessary transaction and user information with Razorpay and its facility providers for payment processing, transaction tracking, fraud prevention, refund processing, dispute handling, regulatory compliance, reporting, and settlement purposes. Razorpay’s terms also require merchants to obtain customer consent for sharing customer information with Razorpay/facility providers and regulatory or governmental authorities where required under applicable law.

Razorpay may share information with banks, RBI, regulatory agencies, service providers, affiliates, law enforcement authorities, or other third parties where necessary for providing services, complying with law, enforcing terms, preventing illegal activities, or protecting rights and security.

By making a payment through CauseKind, you agree that your payment information may be processed by Razorpay and relevant financial/payment partners in accordance with Razorpay’s applicable terms and privacy policy.

Section 02

Payments Through Razorpay

All online donations, contributions, service charges, platform fees, or other payments made through CauseKind may be processed using Razorpay or any other payment gateway/payment aggregator appointed by CauseKind from time to time.

By proceeding with a payment, you agree that:

  • You are using a valid and authorised payment method.
  • The payment information provided by you is true, complete, and accurate.
  • Your transaction may be processed by Razorpay, banks, card networks, UPI, wallets, or other authorised payment partners.
  • CauseKind is not responsible for payment failure, delay, bank-side decline, network issue, incorrect details, blocked payment instrument, payment gateway downtime, or technical errors outside CauseKind’s reasonable control.
  • A payment shall be treated as successful only after CauseKind receives confirmation from Razorpay/payment gateway or the relevant payment partner.
  • CauseKind may verify, hold, cancel, refund, or reject any transaction suspected to be fraudulent, unauthorised, illegal, duplicate, disputed, or in violation of applicable law or platform policy.

Razorpay’s official terms state that Razorpay’s services include payment aggregation, software, analytics, tools, APIs, and related payment services, and users of Razorpay services are bound by Razorpay’s applicable terms and policies.

Section 03

Payment Confirmation

After successful payment, you may receive confirmation by email, SMS, WhatsApp, website notification, or any other communication method used by CauseKind. The confirmation may include donation amount, transaction ID, campaign name, date, receipt details, and other relevant information.

If the amount is debited from your account but confirmation is not received, please contact CauseKind support with transaction details. CauseKind will verify the status with Razorpay/payment gateway and update you accordingly.

Section 04

Payment Gateway Charges

Payment gateway charges, convenience fees, platform fees, GST, or other applicable charges may be deducted or added depending on the campaign, payment method, and applicable payment gateway terms. If any such charges apply, they may be shown at the payment stage or reflected in the settlement/reporting process.

Razorpay’s terms define permissible deductions to include Razorpay fees, chargeback amounts, fines, penalties, and other sums payable to Razorpay.

Section 05

No Cash or Offline Payment Liability

CauseKind shall not be responsible for any cash payment, bank transfer, UPI transfer, or offline payment made outside CauseKind’s authorised payment links, Razorpay checkout, official bank account, or approved payment channels. Users are advised not to make payments to any personal account or unauthorised representative.

Section 06

Refund and Cancellation Policy

Donations made through CauseKind are generally voluntary and may be non-refundable once successfully processed, unless:

  • the donation was made by mistake;
  • there was a duplicate transaction;
  • the transaction failed but the amount was debited;
  • the campaign is cancelled before funds are utilised;
  • the donation cannot be legally or operationally accepted;
  • CauseKind, the beneficiary organisation, or the payment gateway determines that refund is necessary due to fraud, dispute, compliance, or regulatory reasons.

Refund requests must be submitted to CauseKind at support@causekind.com within 7 days from the date of payment, along with transaction ID, donor name, amount, payment date, and reason for refund.

All refund requests will be reviewed by CauseKind. Approval of refund is at CauseKind’s discretion, subject to campaign status, utilisation of funds, payment gateway rules, legal requirements, and availability of funds.

Razorpay’s terms state that refunds are processed only when initiated by the merchant on the Razorpay platform and routed to the same payment method through which the original transaction was processed. Razorpay’s terms also state that Razorpay fees may remain applicable even if a transaction is refunded.

If a refund is approved, the amount will be refunded to the original payment method used for the transaction. Refund timelines may depend on Razorpay, banks, UPI, card networks, wallet providers, and other payment partners.

Failed or Pending Transactions

If your transaction fails, remains pending, or the amount is debited but not credited to CauseKind, we will verify the transaction status with Razorpay/payment gateway. If the payment is not captured or is reversed by the bank/payment partner, the amount may be automatically refunded as per the payment gateway and bank timelines.

Chargebacks and Disputes

If a donor raises a chargeback, dispute, unauthorised transaction claim, or refund claim with their bank/payment provider, CauseKind may be required to share transaction records, receipts, campaign details, communication logs, and other supporting documents with Razorpay, banks, card networks, UPI, regulators, or law enforcement authorities.

Razorpay’s terms state that chargeback liability rests with the merchant and that Razorpay may deduct chargeback amounts from settlement amounts or other funds held by Razorpay. Razorpay may also require documents to prove transaction completion or delivery of goods/services.

CauseKind reserves the right to suspend, block, cancel, or investigate any user account, campaign, or transaction if there is suspected fraud, misuse, chargeback abuse, illegal activity, or violation of platform terms.

Section 07

Donations, Receipts, and Tax Certificates

Donations made through CauseKind may be received by Sahas Charitable Trust or any other authorised entity/campaign partner listed on the relevant campaign page.

Donation receipts may be issued based on the information provided by the donor. If 80G or any tax-exemption certificate is applicable, it will be issued only when:

  • the recipient trust/NGO is eligible to issue such certificate;
  • the donor provides correct PAN, name, address, and other required details;
  • the donation qualifies under applicable law;
  • the transaction is successfully received and verified.

CauseKind is not responsible for rejection, delay, or inability to issue a tax certificate where incorrect donor details are provided, the campaign is not eligible, the donation is refunded, or legal requirements are not satisfied.

These Razorpay Policies are effective as of 24 June 2026.
